Privacy Policy

Effective date: 28 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Sliggle Homes (“Sliggle Homes”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use the Sliggle Homes website, mobile applications, and services (together, the “Platform”). We are committed to handling your data in accordance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the rules made thereunder.

1. Who we are

Sliggle Homes is a rental-management platform operated by Sliggle Homes, an MSME-registered business in India. We connect property owners (landlords) and tenants and provide tools for listings, tenancy management, rent collection, digital rental agreements, expense and tax records, and maintenance requests.

For the purposes of the DPDP Act, Sliggle Homes is the Data Fiduciary that determines the purpose and means of processing your personal data. You are the Data Principal.

2. Personal data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account & identity: your mobile number (used to sign in), your name, and — if you sign in with Google — your name, email address, and Google profile identifier.
  • Verification documents: government-issued identity documents you upload (such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, or driving licence) for identity and property- ownership verification.
  • Contact details: emergency contact number, and any contact information you add to your profile.
  • Property & tenancy data: property addresses, unit details, photos and videos, ownership documents, lease terms, rent and deposit amounts, and tenancy records.
  • Financial data: rent and deposit payment records, transaction identifiers, and payment status. Card and bank details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Razorpay) — we do not store your full card or bank-account numbers.
  • Signature: a signature image you draw or upload, used to sign digital rental agreements and receipts.
  • Location data: approximate device location (latitude/longitude) — only with your permission — to show nearby listings and estimate distances. Property locations shown publicly are deliberately offset to protect owner and tenant privacy.
  • Communications: messages you send through in-app maintenance tickets and landlord–tenant chat threads.
  • Device & technical data: push-notification tokens, app version, device type, and log data needed to operate and secure the Platform.

3. Sensitive personal data

Some of the data above — in particular your government identity documents (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.), financial information, and signature — is treated as sensitive personal data or information under the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. We collect it only where necessary for identity verification, legally valid rental agreements, and payments, and we apply stronger security controls to it (see “How we protect your data”).

We do not use your Aadhaar number to authenticate you against UIDAI, and we do not require it where an alternative identity document is acceptable.

4. How we use your data

We process your personal data to:

  • create and manage your account and verify your identity;
  • publish and manage property listings, tenancies, and room requests;
  • process rent and deposit payments and generate receipts and invoices;
  • generate, pre-fill, and enable dual e-signing of rental agreements and other documents;
  • maintain expense, tax, and accounting records for landlords;
  • route and respond to maintenance requests, including via connected service partners;
  • send you transactional notifications (payment reminders, request updates, verification status) by push, SMS, or WhatsApp;
  • secure the Platform, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with applicable law.

6. How we share your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the Platform:

  • Between landlords and tenants: limited information necessary for a tenancy (e.g. a verified owner’s name, a tenant’s contact for an active tenancy, agreement details).
  • Service providers (Data Processors): payment processing, cloud hosting and storage, SMS/WhatsApp/push delivery, and maintenance-service partners — bound to use the data only to provide services to us.
  • Legal & safety: where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or reorganisation, subject to this policy.

7. Third-party services

The Platform relies on the following third-party processors, each with its own privacy practices:

  • Razorpay — payment processing.
  • Google — sign-in with Google, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.
  • SMS / WhatsApp providers (e.g. MSG91, Twilio, or the WhatsApp Business Platform) — one-time passwords and notifications.
  • Cloud hosting & storage — to run the Platform and store uploaded files securely.
  • Service partners (e.g. Snapsy, Pronto) — to fulfil maintenance and repair requests you raise.

When you sign in with Google, our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We request only your basic profile and email, solely to create and secure your account.

8. Data storage, location & retention

Your data is stored on secure servers. We aim to store and process personal data of Indian users within India; where a processor operates infrastructure outside India, we take steps to ensure comparable protection and transfer data only to jurisdictions permitted under applicable law.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations (for example, financial and tenancy records may be retained for the period required under Indian law). When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

9. How we protect your data

We use reasonable technical and organisational security measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption of data in transit, access controls, time-limited signed links for private documents, and restricted internal access to identity and financial data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we work continually to improve our safeguards and will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India of a personal data breach as required by law.

10. Your rights under the DPDP Act

As a Data Principal, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we process about you and how we process it;
  • Correction & updating of inaccurate or incomplete data (most profile data can be edited in-app);
  • Erasure of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as it was given;
  • Grievance redressal through our Grievance Officer; and
  • Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the “Grievance Officer & contact” section. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

11. Account & data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing hello@sligglehomes.com (or using the in-app account-deletion option where available). On receiving a verified request, we will delete or anonymise your personal data, except data we are required to retain for legal, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes (such as completed payment and tenancy records). We will confirm once the deletion is complete.

12. Children's data

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children (individuals below 18). If we learn that we have collected a child’s data without verifiable parental consent as required by the DPDP Act, we will delete it.

13. Cookies & analytics

Our website uses only the cookies and local storage necessary to operate the site and remember basic preferences. If we introduce analytics or advertising cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where required, seek your consent.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by other means. Your continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.

15. Grievance Officer & contact

In accordance with the DPDP Act and the Information Technology Act, 2000, you may contact our Grievance Officer for any questions, requests, or complaints about your personal data:

Grievance Officer: Kaviyarasan
